Holiday Sessions

Throughout the school holidays, ADFA offer sports courses for children, boys and girls, aged 5 – 15 years old at Herne Bay Scout Hut, for all abilities and standards. The majority of courses in the holidays are Sports and Activities Camps. The courses are held at Herne Bay Scout Hut, and parents can be safe in the knowledge that their child is being cared for and looked after by our fully trained and CRB Checked coaching staff.

Sports and Activity Camps

The Sports and Activies camp is a fun based course for all abilities who have an interest in sports. The mornings incorporate fun based games and are able to choose what sports or activities they want to do, this gives the children the opportunity to learn new skills and improve on ones they already know through small sided games and individual challenges.

In the afternoon challenges are set with the objective of children trying a new sport or activities. On the final day, a whole sports day is set up with children receiving points on their attemot at each activity they try with a prize for the winner at the end of the day, they compete against other children in their age group to make it as fair as possible.

At the end of the week all children receive a medal. Prizes are also given to Penalty Winners, Good Attitude, Player of Week and Sports Personality.

Our aim for these Sports and Activiteis Camps is to ensure all the children enjoy themselves and have fun, make new friends, have a good experience and stay safe.

Other information:

You will need to bring appropriate football wear, shin pads and football boots for the football weeks. Studs or blades are allowed, if ground is hard trainers are  suitable.

Please pack a  change of clothes in case of inclement weather. You will also need to bring a packed lunch and enough drink for the day although we have facilities to fill up water bottles. (Beware ‘e’ numbers)

Parents, as you may be aware the situation at the moment with children and allergies is very complicated.

We would ask you to not to pack any form of nuts in your child’s lunch in case of an allergic child accidentally comes into contact with them.
We are in effect making the course ‘NUT FREE’.
Thank you for your co-operation in advance.
